We all have done this is our school days looking for answers from our friend's answer sheet hahahaha
Karthyayani Amma giving her Literacy Exam

Hello friends, trust all are doing well. I lately caught up with few friends. We had great fun then something came across the conversation it was about a 96 years old woman who scored 98 out of 100 on the Kerala literacy test. When she meets our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi she expressed that she needs to learn computer. Children from nearby come to teach her every morning and evening. On the agreement, a couple of minutes before few of my friends expressed they cannot think of studying any further after getting married and having kids. Then I realize it is the same story for every household. My grandmother also got hitched at a young age and bore six children strange but obvious. Difficult to accept. My mother too got married at her twenty. She accomplished nothing throughout her life except upbringing her children and sacrificing her dream. We are in the 21st century still a couple of families in urban areas or towns thinks a young lady ought not to study so much. Most girls could hardly study due to technological advancement, things have changed for the better. The career options have increased, without travelling also you can still work from home. The career opportunities have increased. These days people like fabricated stuff a lot than the true reality.

We should not stray from the subject. I want to talk about this 96-year-old Karthyayani Amma a woman of Alappuzha who showed up in the state-level literacy test and tops it two years ago. She sat for the "Aksharalaksham Literacy "test run by the state expert in Kerala held at lower grade school Cheppad in the Alleppey area and scored 98 out of 100. She scored 38 out of 40 in writing and full marks in arithmetic and reading.

She died on 23rd July ,2021 at the age of 107 due to age-realted illness

Karthyayani Amma was born in 1922 in the Ezhuthachan family aged 99. She has become nationwide sensational after passing the literacy exam. She is from Cheppad in the territory of Kerala in India. As a kid, she needed to work for earning, left school. She becomes a wife by the age of 13, got widowed at a young age. She had six children and faced a lot of hardship in upbringing them. Her son and daughters are working as road sweepers and housekeepers. She is a vegetarian and gets up at 4 am in the early morning. She always takes care of her health seldom is down with fever. She drinks tea five times a day. She believes in a positive attitude and perseverance. She motivated Bhageerathi Amma who is 105 years old to attend the literacy exam with her. She is making most of the online mode. She spends hours watching Aksharalaksham's youtube channel on literacy missions or read the online study material. She keeps her study books under the pillows. Even her 25 years old grandson is about to complete his plus two under the literacy mission examination.

In 2018, Karthyayani Amma living in Laksham Vedu Colony, social housing province for elderly people stated her daughter Ammini Amma, at sixty, cleared her tenth exam in 2016 inspired her to take part in the literacy exam. Due to some reason, Karthyayani's daughter too had to stop going to school. Amma's tell her great-grandkids and children of young ages studying drives her to study and be literate.

She was the oldest candidate taking part in her district. She learnt the lessons and practise reading and writing with the help of her great-grandchildren who were nine and twelve years old. At present, Amma is learning computers from them and encouraging other old women to read and write. She likes to recite poems and read a lot. During an interview with the Economic Times, she stated her ambition is now to pass the next level of literacy examination at the age of 100 and learn computers.

Karthyayani Amma choice of sitting for this literacy assessment itself was a significant move. Today generation gets disappointed and demotivated and surrenders one life and this lady at 100 years old who want to sit for the next level test is an extraordinary accomplishment. We should learn from her to be patient and determined so that no external factors affect us.

Karthyayani Amma got an "Aksharalaksham Certificate" from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as a badge of acknowledgement for her exceptional accomplishment at this age. The former minister of education Raveendranath gifted her laptop as she wanted to learn it. She has become a Commonwealth of learning Goodwill Ambassador in 2019. In March 2020, she received the Nari Shakti Purushkar award presented by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India. She had flown to Delhi for the first time through flight. She expressed that she studied so much for no reason as the test was easy for her. After her success with the state-level examination, she turned into a superstar even film star Manju Warrier visited her during Diwali. Before appearing for the examination she had no idea that she will be so famous. We should continue to look forward and attempt to explore different roads of diverse principles either will bring success.

What is Aksharalaksham?

It is an undertaking attempted by the Kerala state government to secure 100% literacy in the coming years. As per the 2011 enumeration, there were around 18.5 lakhs uneducated in the states. At present, Palakkad has the most elevated number of members 10,866, followed by Thiruvananthapuram 9,412 and Malappuram 4,065. The motto is to clear out ignorance from the state. This drive will help the low worker like fisherfolk, tribal and slum dwellers to achieve essential schooling. The applicant needs to attend a 100 marks assessment which comprises reading, mathematic and writing. To clear the examined competitor needs to secure at least 9 marks out of 30 in reading, 12 out of 40 writing and 9 out 30 in mathematic. Those candidates who have cleared this examination can move ahead and enrol themselves on the next standard equivalency course of the literacy mission. This is the first occasion when I ran over this sort of drive that worked in the field of education I respected it. I'm uncertain about whether some other state has made such strides or not yet. Everybody has the right to primary education irrespective of age, race, caste, gender etc. According to UNESCO norms,90% of the populace should be educated to proclaim a state as completely proficient.

Education has no age limit and that is the best part. At whatever stage in life, people could begin the study. So I want to say that everyone should be positive and self-determined so that failure never led them down. Disappointment ought to be a learning venture toward progress. It is high time that we should quit making an excuse and stop assuming about others or what society will say. Stand firm and move forward, follow one dream. Anybody who tries to attempts something beyond practical boundaries other say them frantic. So stop getting affected by their opinion. You stay persistent and self-driven. Karthyayani Amma is a living example for all of us who thinks we have achieved sufficient or tried of work or have no spirit to get up and strive every day to make ourselves worth it. I am not sure about others but she motivated me. This generation of us has a practice of analyzing everything in terms of gain and loss, not on the grounds of happiness and self-love.
